Mauve Soggy Dun

Another variation on the similar theme... This Soggy Dun with mauve colored body should work especially well for greyling. It has brown super hair body over white UTC thread, microfibetts tails, badger support hackle (clipped), and reverse wound snipe soft hackle in the front.

What a great tie! Vlad,

This is my next "have to learn"! Either the reverse wet fly or the wet fly swing! Take a grayling on those thing would be a part of my FF achievement! Snipe is awesome!

sincerely,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I rarely fish typical dries anymore on spring creeks...but very often flies which have mixed dry and wet hackles, like this one. They sit very low on the water and trout take them readily. Old French flies had somewhat similar design and similar concepts were explored by great British author Neil Patterson.

You are right for sure about snipe...I am almost out of my snipe feathers-have to order more.

Thanks!
Vlad
