The most elegant attract pattern I ever seen... I bet they will sit right on the film nicely! Superb!

Hi Mark,

I saw this fly for the first time in an advertisement for Gamakatsu hooks-I think it was invented by a Japanese flytyer.

I need to fish it more this coming season-in bigger sizes it looks like a carpenter ant...

Thanks,
V.

Hi Vlad,

Wow... Now I suddenly have seen the feel about the Japanese fly style... Indeed!

I have several website about Japanese tier... they are good at this style! Very very elegant! And they are playing a small game too #24-30...

Nice post and nice tie! Vlad

Thanks-you are right about the Japanese style!

What attracted me to this design is the minimalist approach-or the idea 'less is more'. Some fly tiers like to cover the shank between the peacock herl bulb and the post with black thread, but I think it looks more cool left bare.

Ha... indeed...
These beetles really shine the metalic coloration too!
