Hey Vlad,

Awesome! Striper VS. Trout : )
I have a guide color... I will post a matching photo! Very cool!

Hi Mark,

I actually like the "guide color" version better. I think it is more resistant finish, too. It wasn't available at the time I bought mine :-(.

I believe that Lamson came up with the better/corrosion resistant version of the bearing for newer reels, and that you can send the reel to get the old bearing replaced (under warranty). Have you had any issues with yours?

My reel is an older version, but I haven't used it all that much... It is something I might consider doing in the future.

Hi Vlad,

Mine is old version too, I got a LS3 and LS4. The LS3 is heavy used. No issue so far and I really love it! You are right about the new corrosion resistant drag, mine is pretty clean... so I think I will wait until they goes bad... BTW The guide finish looks very different from LS3 to LS4. The LS4 not looks so good either... to shiny... I think they change the coating formula... Mark

Thanks Mark-it is good to know! I will probably wait, too. Why fix it if it isn't broken...

That is quite a comparison. The Lamson looks like it could eat the Reddington for a snack.

Cameron, my thoughts exactly... The little reel looks as wide as the axis of the big reel.
