Hi Vlad,

Is that the black plastic bead? I really like it! beautiful tie! I always have very good luck with the black bead nymph...wheather it was metal or plastic... I think they add a bit realistic and fine touch...

Thanks Mark...actually it is only a varnish on the dark head, so it looks round like a salmon fly head. I usually don't put varnish on smaller flies, but did on this one.

I totally agree on your comment about beads-they are cool and I use them often.

Thank you Jeremy! Next time we fish, I think I am going to try droppers and mix some winged wets and soft hackles.

I just walked into your blog.
Great style, your tying is exquisite, the glass rods are pretty cool too.

Hi Jay,

Thank you for your kind words. I noticed from your profile that you are from Netherlands...do you mostly flyfish from trout or other species?

Thanks for stopping by,

Vlad

Vlad,

yes 99,9% of my fishing is indeed trout fishing outside of The Netherlands. Most of the time in southern Germany/Austria region.
It's simply the best: gin clear streams, amazing scenery and TROUTs!

Jay,

That's great! I am curious if you had an opportunity to visit trout and greyling waters in Slovenia or Bosnia-both countries have some amazing rivers and quality fishing. I grew up in former Yugoslavia, and only fished Serbian waters before I moved to the USA.

Vlad,

I've never fished the Slovenian rivers yet.
Heard & read a lot of good stuff about them.
It's a LONG drive to the Balkan area, yet I still might do it one day.

Do you come back often?

Jay,

I don't visit as often as I used to do-I might go next summer. How often do you visit/fish the States?

Vlad

Vlad,

It varies. Sometimes once every 2-3 years.

Jay,

Hopefully one day we'll have a chance to fish together-either here in the States or in Europe...
