Wonderful work! Vlad,
I really love the metalic blue! Another sports car with soul in it! : ) Is the reel seat a close thread design? I have read the new G Loomis rod are all use this new design. Very cool!! Awesome cork too! : )

Thanks Mark, I am glad you like it... The seat is Fuji with black hoods (just like this one):

You lock it by twisting the fighting butt. It is also very lightweight, holds well any type of reel foot and corrosion-free. I use it on all my saltwater rods. The strippers are new Fuji-K style, an interesting snag-free design. They should prevent a "bird's nest" if a big fish takes line suddenly :-)

Very cool Vlad,
I did not notice the stripping guide. Cool looking too! : )

Vlad,

Cool looking rod. You do some really nice stuff, especially considering the "workshop"/tools (or not) that you have.

Man, you make some nice rods and flies.

Jeremy.....(who hopes this will pass thru on that Google acct. of mine!!)

Thanks Jeremy... Hope your summer is going well. It seems like every day I have off is raining... this has been a weird summer weather-wise.

i see you have used the k series for the stripping guide but what guides did you use for the rest? thanks

i have a question about the rear cork grip and how you attached it. I noticed on the skeleton seal the bottom portion has the nurled barrel for the uplocking portion. Is the rear cork hollowed out to fit over this part of the seat? thanks for your help i love your rods im starting to build one myself.

Hi Adam,

Yes, Fuji-K guides are the strippers and I used single foot TiCH snakes for the rest. For the fighting butt use Fuji KDPS Quick-Lock nut and build the butt around it.

Thanks,

Vlad
