I was planning on fishing a nice spring creek in NE Iowa next weekend, but everything is flooded there right now. Those are the same areas which got hit by floods last Fall and I don't know how will fly life be affected.flyfishingunlimitedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13795514777903025626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23668746.post-67271962545451805722008-06-09T10:05:00.000-04:002008-06-09T10:05:00.000-04:00Wonderful report! What a beautiful creek!

Those are big mayflies... and great imitation! I bet the fish are really into them... this remind me the green drake hatch I encountered last summer... how surprise to me that the fish rise for #12 dry fly. : )BLUEANGLERhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01712978089218243324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23668746.post-17117819675661416012008-06-09T08:49:00.000-04:002008-06-09T08:49:00.000-04:00Jeremy,We were on the same water (upper K), but ar...Jeremy,

We were on the same water (upper K), but arrived around 4:45pm. The fish were rising everywhere... I had time to get four little brownies, before we got soaked, even though our car was only steps away. We left right away, so it was a very short outing.

It looked like it was going to rain big time, but we still chanced it... and I was glad, since the light was incredible for taking pictures...

I wish I knew-you were probably only a mile or so away from us...flyfishingunlimitedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13795514777903025626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23668746.post-13944480557326473152008-06-09T08:10:00.000-04:002008-06-09T08:10:00.000-04:00Vlad, Nice going. Your water was at least clear, your weather not so threatening.

At 3:30 yesterday I got a call from a friend for some evening fishing...sulphurs on the upper K.

We arrived, got dressed, got onstream and in position only to immediately get drenched for some time. And then some more!!!

And some more....

A few little rascals came to a soft hackle. I got some guff about my "new" leader. That stopped after a few casts ....*G*

Then it rained some more.

I noticed around 5 (could've been 6) sulphurs. Shucks! Also some of your March Browns..just a few.

It was much better than sitting home though!

Jeremy....who hopes gas prices don't reach $6.00/gal anytime soon!Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15722274850157233334noreply@blogger.com
