Vlad,
You know what?! This is really a brilliant rod! I really love this series... so cool... If you want to make living out of it, you definitely will have a group of serious collectors waiting in front of your shop... : )
Joking aside, I am thinking may be we can work on some project together!

Great work! and thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys! I'd be happy to build a rod for you. I found this blank only in this particular length/size so far, and I've been looking for a red blank for awhile now.

Thanks again,
Vlad

P.S. Mark, I mailed your DVD back and you should get it soon. I enjoyed it alot-thanks again!

It's so beautiful rod!
I am very interested

Hitoshi, thank you!

The rod is built on a high-modulus graphite blank... With aluminum tube and bag, I can make a rod like this (with red wraps/white single thread inlays, bright/silver hardware, same thin cork rings and red agate stripper) for $350. Actual shipping costs would be extra.

Thank you all again for asking,

Vlad

Vlad,

You are truely talented. How do you make that "ripple" at the butt of the rod and what finish are you using?

I beleive CTS blanks will make custom color blanks, what blank is this?

flyfishingunlimited said...

Mike,

Thanks! I use Threadmaster Lite finish. The blank is imported, but it is not CTS, even though I will soon build a similar rod on the red CTS blank.

About the "ripple", I posted about it in this forum:

Vlad

That is a sharp idea! I will have to copy your trick once I get another chance to build a rod. TM is a great product!

Vlad,
the rod looks exquisite!
I love the grip shape too.
Are there any shorter blanks available? Like 7.3ft #3?

Jay

Thanks Jay, glad you like it...

This particular blank comes only in this size. The only other red blank available would be from CTS (different manufacturer.)

I posted the pics of "enzo" rod, that would give you idea of the CTS red color. It is more of a pale red and not deep metallic red like "testarossa." CTS offers alot of different actions, including a "quarz glass," a high quality fiberglass composite.

Their website:

Also, they offer a variety of different colors as a custom option.
