The most elegant attract pattern I ever seen... I bet they will sit right on the film nicely! Superb!
Hi Mark,I saw this fly for the first time in an advertisement for Gamakatsu hooks-I think it was invented by a Japanese flytyer.I need to fish it more this coming season-in bigger sizes it looks like a carpenter ant...Thanks,V.
Hi Vlad,Wow... Now I suddenly have seen the feel about the Japanese fly style... Indeed!I have several website about Japanese tier... they are good at this style! Very very elegant! And they are playing a small game too #24-30...Nice post and nice tie! Vlad
Thanks-you are right about the Japanese style! What attracted me to this design is the minimalist approach-or the idea 'less is more'. Some fly tiers like to cover the shank between the peacock herl bulb and the post with black thread, but I think it looks more cool left bare.
Ha... indeed...These beetles really shine the metalic coloration too!
"Poodle"...HA! I can hear a high pitched "Ruff Ruff" when I look at this fly. HA...Beautiful tie, Vlad.
Thanks Cam, and thank you for stopping by!Vlad
Great looking flies! Going tie some up for sure. It would be interesting to see how the Cutthroats like em'; )Great blog Vlad,Bryan
Thanks Bryan,Love your blog-keep up the good work!V.
