November Days

It turned out to be not as cold as I expected today. However, it was overcast and foggy in the morning, with light south-west breeze. The fish were active, and Olives did show up, as they often do on gloomy early November days. I spent the entire day fishing pretty much two flies: black and brown leeches, and Olive dun imitations I tied yesterday. I brought and used only one rod-McFarland with Edgar Sealey (J.W. Young) reel. It worked like a charm...

Hey Vlad,

That is too much fun! : ) What a nice rod and fish photos! I really love this series photos with light paintbrush touch. The fish you caught has some awesome color/spots too. I enjoy reading it!
I believe your McFarland works like a charm! After cast friend's McFarland (5wt), I have to agree I have caught on this bug too... Very nice and your MaFarland is definitely is a special one!
Keep these great post coming!

Sincerely,

Mark

Hey Mark,

This is one of my favorite streams. It has wild brown trout in its lower section, but in the summer months I also caught some nice smallmouth bass in the same area of the stream.

Last year in late October/early November I observed so many snipe migrating-they were on the stream banks...everywhere. I haven't seen a single one this year.
