How do you like your Ross Reel on the salt? Where are you fishing Salt? I go on vacation to Central Coast California and am getting geared up to try the surf.
I like the reel so far, no troubles...I used to live in Boston until five years ago, across the street from the beach. I would fish it all the time, May-October. Now it is not as easy due to my re-location. I make trips back to Boston every summer. Also, I'm travelling to Florida on Monday for several days, and will fish a bit. Never fished the California surf, but hope to do it in the near future. You'll have a blast, that's for sure!
most of the cork you use seems to have a mix of burl or composite... do you turn your grip profiles on a lathe to get the shape you want or are you buying them from mudhole? thanks

Vlad,
AWESOME!!!
What a great build! love the new style for the salt rods... a lot of electric elements... I can feel the electric shock of the striper pull now...
BTW, I am visiting Boston and Woods hole this weekend! :)
Take care!
Mark
Thanks brother,
Glad you like it! Have a wonderful time in MA!!
the rods look great, where do you get your building supplies from?
Hi Adam,
Lately I've been using Mudhole. They have a very extensive online catalog and ship quickly.
Thanks,
Vlad

Yes, the cork was turned on the lathe.
Thanks,
Vlad
